Second grade had a blast at Greenbush learning about rocks, minerals and how natural disasters form the earth.
What changes the Earth's surface? This was the essential question at Greenbush today. Students learned about different types of rocks and how elements like wind and water can change the earth. They did a lot of hands on exploring!
Students also learned about the engineering process and did an activity where they built a structure that was tested on an earthquake simulator.
2nd grade students built a structure to see if it could withstand the earthquake simulator at Greenbush.
Students at Garfield created ocean themed ornaments for this year's Stella Wells tree!

This week we learned about the history of the Macy's parade and all about the balloons. Students then created their own parade of balloons. Check out the creativity!
For our Thanksgiving treat we made pumpkin pie in a cup. Students read the recipe and followed it, measuring out ingredients and stirring it up. They topped it off with whipped cream, sprinkles and a candy pumpkin. Yum! Happy Thanksgiving from our school family to your family!

We read all about the history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and how the large balloon floats were made. Today kiddos did an awesome job designing and creating their own balloon floats for the Garfield Thanksgiving Parade.
