
Today Mrs. Strode's class learned about Newton’s laws and then made Newton’s Cradle to test it out










It may be almost Thanksgiving, but here we are at Garfield still working hard and crushing goals! These students motivate and cheer each other on daily. What a great classroom family to be a part of! Go Team Tierney!

A huge shout out to this motivated young man who hit 100 AR points today and then completed the last of his second grade Study Island math modules. He not only works hard but he encourages his classmates daily to keep working to meet and exceed their goals! Way to go!



Sierra has completed all her multiplication and division facts on paper form and in Xtra Math!! Way to plow through your multiplication and division facts!!

These two second graders have now completed Xtra Math addition and are working on subtraction! Way to go!

Tuesday, Bruce, passed all his xtra math. Which means he could answer his addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts in 6 seconds. Way to go Bruce!!!

During our counseling lesson with Ms. Ryan, Mrs. Collins' students discussed treating others with kindness and respect. They ended the lesson with a fun art activity for World Kindness Day. All of the students put their painted handprints on this poster to form a heart because Mrs. Collins' class chooses Kindness!

Every member of Team Tierney has surpassed their November AR goals already! Even our newest classmate has exceeded his goal! The students were excited today to receive chains with tokens for each 5 AR points that they've earned. They get a special book shaped charm at 50 points.
