These students all reached milestones in Accelerated Reading this month. AR helps our students learn to think more about what they read. They answer questions over the text after they have read the book. The more they read, the better readers they are becoming. So proud of them!











Team Tierney ALL met their October AR goal and are well on their way to meeting their November goals!



Parsons Mayor Eric Strait spoke to third graders about his role as a City Commissioner/Mayor, what it takes to obtain that position and what is required to serve in that position. He encouraged them as they grow up to be part of the solution, and not just point out problems.

Our class read The Wild Robot this quarter. To put our comprehension skills to the test, today we watched the movie and spent time comparing and contrasting the movie in the book. Students each got to take home a small 3D printer robot and snacked on spooky popcorn.





Mrs. Tierney is incredibly proud of this young lady who has been working hard to finish all of the second grade math topics in Study Island. She achieved the goal she set out for herself by finishing it today, the last day of the first quarter. What a goal getter!

Students in Mr. Medina's class earn tickets to purchase things from the class shop. These students used their tickets to eat lunch with a friend and with Mr. Medina in the month of October.

Third grade ended a book report assignment by making a main character from the book out of a small pumpkin. Students could get creative and use paint, cardboard, paper, wiggle eyes, yarn, pipe cleaners, clay, and other items to portray the desired features of their character.

Students in Sherry Tierney's class have been learning about matter. They reviewed the states of matter Friday, and performed a science experiment, with a Halloween twist, with baking soda and vinegar, demonstrating a chemical reaction.
