
While learning about mixtures and solutions, students in Mrs. Brimm's class got a little exercise! If students believed the picture on the screen was a mixture, they did jumping jacks. If it was a solution, students did cross crawls. They enjoyed the active lesson!

Students during Mrs. Shields' math lesson today were taking turns "teaching" the class how to use place value to subtract 3-digit numbers. They rocked it!




Students in Mrs. Brimm's class had a great day at Greenbush. The ladies at Greenbush said these kids had the best manners, always saying please and thank you!

In science we are learning about the states of matter. We experimented to see if shaving cream is a solid, liquid or gas. We also experimented to see what liquid took tarnish off of a penny.







After learning about matter, students in Mrs. Brimm's class conducted an experiment and were "alchemist" to determine which liquid turned a dull penny shiny. They were fascinated by the results!

Mr. Holmes' class concluded their unit on natural disasters by experimenting with "Survive the Quake" STEM engineering kits.





Mr. Holmes' class completed a "sugar shake" science experiment to model the process of erosion. Instead of rocks, we used sugar cubes!



After reading about earthquakes, we used engineering kits to test and predict about different structures that would be better in areas that experience earthquakes.




Mrs Stover's class won our weekly attendance competition. They had ZERO absences! They won a Viking Basketball donated by Coach Houk, PHS Viking Boys Basketball Head Coach. Thank you Coach Houk!
