
Ceramics class got to harvest their own clay today. They will learn how to clean and process the clay for a project that will later be pit fired.

Parsons High School students participated in the annual Club Fair, signing up to join clubs of interest to them. A wide variety of clubs were represented in this realm of extracurricular activity. Clubs are an important component of students' education and self -discovery.

Ms. Lucas' College Orientation classes had visitors from Labette Comm. College Tuesday, September 3rd. Special thanks to LCC Admissions Director, Brandi McCall-Tyler, and Recruiter, Mia Howard, for spending the day at PHS discussing opportunities for after graduation.

Jim Gilpin's 7th hour Intro to Industrial Technology class stands with one of the wooden forms of a woman they cut out for Parsons Police Department using a CNC router. PD will paint the forms and use them during domestic violence awareness month. Viking Community collaboration!

This week Junior Autumn Sands traveled to Ecuador to represent Team USA and compete in the Pan Am Championship! Today is competition day, so PHS students wore their red, white and blue to show their spirit and support their classmate!





PHS physics students use their measurement skills and knowledge of significant figures to determine the density of some mystery objects in order to identify them.





PHS Chemistry students familiarize themselves with bunsen burners and fire safety, while making stirring rods that they will use for labs throughout the year.





Varsity Tennis that was postponed from Thursday 8/29 will now be played on 9/4/24.

A/V students are producing 30-second "Meet Your Crew" videos to connect with each other, while Digital Project Management students are presenting research on A/V production job roles. It's been a busy week for Viking Media! Go Vikes!




PHS Principal Rob Barcus spoke to the Parsons Rotary Club Thursday, sharing about changes, students' many accomplishments, and touting PHS teachers', coaches' and students' hard work, even throughout the summer months.

There will be no school on Monday, September 2, 2024 in celebration of Labor Day.
