Mr. Holmes’ and Mrs. Gordon’s students had a special visitor, today. “Professor Charlick” and his wife flew in all the way from England to visit family in Parsons, and while they were here, they stopped by Guthridge to read chapter one of Harry Potter, knowing that Mr. Holmes’ classroom is totally decorated in a Harry Potter theme! They also brought with them British sweets, Hogwarts letters, stickers, prizes, and presents for all of the students. A big thank you goes out to Heather Boss for thinking of the idea and making it happen!
Mrs. Ryan's Art Classes visited Ron Hick's art display at the Carnegie Art Center today.
What a great way to start my week!
I work with a great group of students and staff.
Happy Monday Viking Kingdom.

After learning about spiders, Kaci and Ivan from Mr. Holmes’ class found some discoveries of their own at home and wanted to share some pictures. We love seeing those school to home connections!
Mrs. Brumback and Mrs. Armstrong’s students enjoyed pancakes after learning about chemical and physical changes. Pancakes show how both take place.
Is there any better way to end a great week than by making and eating homemade ice cream?!?!
Will Chapman and Kailyn Armstrong have show great classroom dedication

Danarious has earned 33 Blue Ribbons on Study Island... Wow!
Today, Mr. Holmes’ and Mrs. Gordon’s students learned that birds have unique beaks that have adapted over time to eat different foods! We used spoons, toothpicks, tweezers, clothespins, and straws as our “beaks,” and different candies represented various insects and seeds.
Mrs. Good’s class made some tasty spider treats to go with our spider story.
Students in Mr. Holmes’ classes are reading and writing about animals and their adaptations. Do you know how the cookie-cutter shark and the blobfish survive in the deep ocean?
Mrs Smith’s math groups used base 10 blocks to spell their names and then they calculated the value…Math can be fun!
After reading about spiders, students in Mr. Holmes’ classes created “main idea spiders” to show what they learned.
